How do you want to feel in your body? Do you want to feel energised, light on your feet, focused? Or lethargic, heavy and bloated?

How do you want to feel about your nutrition? Do you love your food and look forward to eating? Do you feel confident about what you eat and how it makes you feel? Or do you feel like eating well is a hardship- a wagon you fall off all-too regularly. Do you ever feel low or anxious that you aren’t able to follow the latest nutritional rules, or confused by the contradictory advice out there?

Sarah and Hannah have teamed up to bring you a 5 part series, each week focusing on a simple, important nutritional message that will help you to make positive changes to your diet, with lots of actionable tips and fun, easy recipes. Our aim is to enable you to feel the way you want to feel- both physically in your body and confident that you are on a positive, enjoyable journey.

Our aim through this 5-part series is to give you simple & practical advice to improve your health, leaving you feeling happier and healthier and more in-control. We are committed to steering clear of quick fixes and fad diets, and focusing on nutrition advice that you can turn into life-long habits for lasting change.

We hope to motivate & inspire you to start leading a healthier life one step at a time.

With Hannah’s credentials and expertise in nutrition and Sarah’s experience in coaching for habit-formation and nutrition-focused cooking, we believe we have a pretty special package of advice for you. Over the next few weeks, we have a 5 part series for you that gives measured, easy to follow tips that can be layered up over the 5 weeks. Each week, there is just one thing to focus on. This isn’t about a lifestyle overhaul where you change everything about your diet and habits overnight. Instead we focus on manageable changes that you can make to how you eat and what you eat and give you easy recipes.

First, a bit about our beliefs and ethos when it comes to health and well being. The reason we wanted to collaborate with each other is because even though we have very different backgrounds and areas of focus, we found we shared a set of values around what true health is and felt that together we could support and inspire you to make positive, easy changes!

There is a strong connection between what you eat and your health, and how you feel on a day-to-day basis. Yet somehow, even though we know we want to feel great, light, and energetic, we aren’t fully aware of how important the role of eating healthy food is.

We see people looking for quick-fixes for aesthetic goals and a tendency to focus on diets that are unsustainable- for example the massive rise in India of the ketogenic diet. Diets rarely lead to long-term health improvements, weight loss or overall wellbeing, as it is almost impossible to keep up forever. As soon as you go back to eating ‘normally’, whatever positive changes you experienced will be reversed. This locks people in a cycle of dieting, only to experience a feeling of ‘failing’ to stick to this, leaving people feeling like failures, and being that bit less certain that they will ever find a style of eating and exercising that will last them for the long term. The confusing advice and extreme messages out there only serve to push people further into this pattern.

Alternatively, we see people who haven’t given much thought to their nutrition at all,  paying very little attention to what they put into their bodies, and not realising how good their bodies are supposed to feel- how energetic and active and pain-free they could be. Instead, diets based on poor understanding of nutrition, and a tendency to lean on convenience foods and take-outs can leave people with health problems and feeling unhappy about themselves.

There is a tremendous amount of (mis)information readily available that can sometimes make healthy eating confusing and more complicated than it needs to be. Social media and media reports tend to focus on sensationalist claims such as ‘this type of food is terrible for you’ or ‘this super food can change your life’ . This can lead to confusing messages and complicated rules that don’t seem to add up and lead to more stress around nutrition overall.

We believe we have come up with a 5 part series that can help you to transform your relationship with food to be one of celebration and confidence, following simple, evidence-based nutritional guidelines in a way that feels enjoyable and joyful. Only when we truly enjoy eating well can we be sure we can keep it up for life- and it moves from ‘following advice’ to an inbuilt habit- freeing up our time and energy to focus on doing what we love without worrying about our health and diet.

Your relationship with food should always allow you the ability to completely enjoy all other aspects of your life. We believe this 5 part series can help get you on the right track.
